Special Meeting

of the Board of Education of the

North Tama County Community School District

The Board of Directors of the Community School District of North Tama County met on August 18, 2026, for a special open meeting at the North Tama County CSD High School Second Floor Breakout Space, Traer, Iowa. At 5:05 P.M, the meeting was called to order by President Calderwood.

On roll call the following board members were present: Dvorak, Calderwood, Sniffin, Dostal, Wilson and Seda. Staker was absent. Quorum Present. Also present were: Superintendent Cain, Board Secretary Forrester and Principal Howard.

Seda made the motion to approve the agenda as presented. Sniffin seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.

Discussion took place on concession stand personnel responsibilities and pay options. No action was taken.

At 5:21 P.M. Seda made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Dostal seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0.

The board then entered a work session with Lou Ann Gvirst and Lisa Whitaker from Iowa Association of School Boards for a School Board Development Workshop. Board members enjoyed an evening of collaborating to set the foundation for the future via a strategic plan and district goal review and worked on developing a governance mindset through deep conversations and group activities. The work session ended at 8:05 P.M.
