711.10 - School Bus Passenger Restraints

The district shall utilize three-point lap-shoulder belts on district school buses as required by state law. All three-point lap-shoulder belts when available on district buses will be used by passengers when the vehicle is in any non-stationary gear. 

Drivers are not responsible (i.e. liable) for students wearing seat belts while riding. Drivers are responsible (i.e. liable) for instructing and/or reminding students to put on seat belts prior to the bus moving.
